Clarkson's History

Our Town began life in 1886 as a railroad station and collection of businesses to serve the nearby farmers.  In the preceding decade the rich prairie lands of the surrounding area had been acquired by Czech and German immigrants who quickly adapted to life in the New World while proudly holding on to the language, food, and culture of their native lands.  They established a close-knit, friendly community that continues to celebrate its rich cultural heritage.

The Clarkson area community, with its 150-year history, ambitious, hard-working citizens, and diverse cultural heritage, has a lot of stories to tell.  Many of them have been recorded at the link below.
